I have looked at photography books and added to this webpage according to the things that I have found helpful as well as some things that I have
found helpful to me when I take pictures.
- Above all, READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL THAT CAME WITH YOUR CAMERA!!!
- Get to know your camera. Experiment with the different features.
- Watch your finger positions. Don't cover the flash or the lens, especially during a picture.
- Use the viewfinder to see what your camera sees.
- When you take pictures of small things up close, use the flower option to make sure that it focuses.
- Don't just snap the picture! Press the button half-way down so that the camera knows that you're ready to take a picture and so it can
focus. Then press the button the rest of the way down, but slowly so that your camera doesn't shake when it takes it.
- If you can buy a tri-pod, it helps your pictures not be blurry. The tri-pod has three legs(hence the tri- part of the name...) and it
stabalizes the camera so that when the lens opens to take the picture, it doesn't shake and come out blurry.
